Overview

Strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems to unlock local competitiveness, resilience, and sustainable economic opportunity.

Embedded within the broader PRABRIDDHI Local Economic Development Programme, through this assignment INDEPTH and Turtle Venture examine the dynamics shaping entrepreneurial growth in Cox’s Bazar and Kushtia while identifying opportunities to strengthen the ecosystem supporting local businesses, i.e., analyzing market conditions, institutional relationships, service delivery mechanisms, and the interconnected roles of public and private stakeholders in fostering enterprise development.

Rather than focusing exclusively on business performance, the work adopts a systems perspective that recognizes entrepreneurship as part of a broader local development agenda, examining constraints alongside emerging opportunities to generate evidence that informs strategies for improving competitiveness, expanding market participation, and strengthening local value chains.

As Bangladesh pursues decentralized economic growth, the engagement contributes to that objective by providing insights that help shape more responsive, inclusive, and sustainable approaches to local economic development, reinforcing the role of entrepreneurship as a driver of long-term regional prosperity.
