This assessment explores the role that education systems can play in advancing community resilience to climate-related disasters in Bangladesh through examining existing capacities, community vulnerabilities, stakeholder perspectives, and implementation challenges to identify opportunities for schools to serve as active platforms for disaster preparedness, climate awareness, and community engagement.

Recognizing that resilience is fundamentally a governance challenge as much as an infrastructure challenge, the work positions schools as uniquely capable institutions due to their deep community connections and intergenerational reach, facilitating knowledge exchange, coordinating local action, and strengthening collective preparedness before disasters occur.

As climate risks continue to evolve, the engagement contributes to education-centered approaches to disaster risk reduction by generating evidence that supports strengthening existing community institutions, demonstrating how learning environments can become powerful drivers of community adaptation and long-term resilience.
