Generating reliable data to inform climate resilience, accountability, and policy dialogue.

This assignment was a short-term data collection engagement under Oxfam in Bangladesh’s GROW project, which aimed to address food system injustices and promote sustainable natural resource management in the context of climate change.

The consultancy involved collecting community-based self-reported data on climate-induced loss and damage from eight climate-vulnerable locations across all eight divisions of Bangladesh, feeding into a dashboard developed by Oxfam and KAZ Systems for spatiotemporal monitoring and tracking of loss and damage.

The agency was responsible for deploying data collectors to gather at least 30 surveys per location per day over one month using Kobo/online platforms, while also providing feedback to refine the data collection form. The data was intended to build an evidence base on climate impacts affecting small-scale food producers, such as farmers and fishers, to support national and local advocacy efforts aimed at influencing policymakers and securing fair climate finance for vulnerable communities.
